Some Sample Reviews

Very interesting!

This was the police dog training and breeding centre, working with Belgian Shepherd, Dutch Shepherd, German Shepherd, Spaniels, and Labradors. It involved walking them twice daily, cleaning kennels, feeding, observing training (protection work and sniffer dog training), observing whelpings, and providing enrichment to the puppies. It was very interesting and a good experience overall! Communication was lacking when forms needed to be filled in both before and after the placement.

Lambing Placement

This was a really good lambing placement, highly recommend. no prior knowledge needed as the people were willing to teach you everything you needed to know. Vet family relative which means you can have the opportunity to ask veterinary related questions related to your course. Very long days however plenty of breaks and food is provided for breakfast, lunch, tea and supper. access to dryer and washing machine which is really useful

Riding Stables

I completed a 2 week long placement at Cottage Farm Stables, working 5 days a week from 8-5 each day. I Each day I completed normal husbandry tasks, mucking out, fetching horses in, tacking up and feeding as well as being able to develop other skills I wanted to. I was able to practice taking TPR on the horses each day, working with lame horses and any areas of weakness I wanted to improve on. The staff were really supportive and friendly and made sure I had the learning opportunities I wanted to have. To get here you would need a car, there is no accommodation provided so you would need to be local or sort external accommodation.
